Welcome

Welcome to the community of developers of Spatial Stochastic Reaction-Diffusion simulators.
These simulators are used to model and simulate signaling pathways in cells, such as bacteria, yeast and neurons.
Each simulator has its own strengths and weaknesses, its own user community, and its own webpage maintained by the developers and where you can find the latest news and versions. This webpage provides a central listing of simulators, as well as collation of test sets. If you have a simulator you would like added to the webpage, please email avrama at gmu dot edu

This website was inspired by discussions at the workshop on Particle-Based Stochastic Reaction-Diffusion Models in Biology organized by Coombs, Flegg, Isaacson, Petzold, Lötstedt and held at the Banff International Research Station for Mathematical Innovation and Discovery November 9 to November 14, 2014.

The next workshop on spatial stochastic reaction – diffusion will be held at the Newton Institute for Mathematical Sciences at Cambridge, UK, from 20th June 2016 to 24th June 2016. Please visit this website for more information on Spatially Distributed Stochastic Dynamical Systems in Biology.
