The mission, objectives, and evolving research programs of the Krasnow Institute for Advanced Study are unique and challenging to its scientific investigators and researchers. But that mission also presents a challenge to those seeking to carry out Shelley Krasnow’s vision of establishing the Institute and assuring its growing capacity to continue to support the research programs needed to fulfill the mission for which it was created. To meet this challenge, the director has committed to a development program designed to promote the Institute, and to organize and direct efforts to seek and cultivate financial and related support.
The George Mason University Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit foundation organized and operated exclusively to assist the university in generating private support and managing, investing, and administering private gifts, including endowment and real property. It is through gifts to the Krasnow Opportunity Fund and other related funds that Krasnow continues to receive support through corporate and private philanthropy.
Gifts to the Institute are essential to the continued capacity growth and scientific advancement we seek to achieve. Contributions may be made to the Krasnow Institute in many ways through the GMU Foundation. Many of the gift options are tax deductible as provided by Federal and State tax code. Gifts in support of the Krasnow Institute may be tailored to reflect the donor’s interests and tax situation. More information on giving may be found at http://supportingmason.gmu.edu.
